Doug Cooper
Doug's role-playing work includes role playing assignments for the Organisational and Staff Development team at King's College London. The most recent was part of a recruitment and selection process for a senior management position with the Estates & Facilities directorate at KCL which involved a day long assessment centre. He was required to play a number of roles where the candidates had to engage with me within a number of scenarios. He was briefed to react in certain ways to enable the assessors to observe the candidates responses which were assessed against specific competencies. The scenario was not scripted so he had to act in character against the basic briefing. He also took part in the consolidation session with the assessors where the feedback on each candidate was brought together - this included the assessor reports and his views on the candidates' responses and competence. He also role played on a development centre for the HR advisors. This involved a similar process to the one above. I was also asked to provide written feedback for each of the participants in addition to the consolidation session.
